What an incredible year 2024 has been for Barton Inclusive FC!
Since our journey began in 2019, we’ve welcomed more players than ever before into our club, growing our community and expanding our impact across both sides of the Humber.
A Year of Growth and Achievements
Our youth provision continues to flourish, with the very first of our Teeny Tots graduating to the next stage of their football journey. This includes many girls joining our inspiring Wildcats sessions, some of whom have now graduated into competitive local teams, a fantastic milestone!
We also launched Comets for children aged eight to 12 with additional needs, while our BIFC Hull U12’s joined league competition alongside our U16 Tigers.
Across all age groups, we now have more teams than ever before, supported by amazing new volunteers, coaches, and committee members.
A heartfelt thank you to Katrina Day, our treasurer since 2019, for her dedication, and a warm welcome to Joanne Lambon in her new role. We also welcomed Lady Jo Newby to represent our cherished BIFC Hull, who celebrated the addition of a third adult pan-disability team in the past year.
Champion Moments and Events
This year saw incredible league successes, with our Vikings crowned champions in Sheffield and our Pumas in Lincolnshire. Founding teams Inter and Athletic continued to compete strongly, and we hosted the biggest-ever Liam Jinks Cup, a landmark inclusive football event that will grow even bigger in 2025!
Our Walking Football team lifted the Liam Jinks Cup title and joined a league for the first time, while our women’s inclusive offer created a welcoming space for many and will be a key focus for 2025.
Community Spirit and Support
We are endlessly grateful for the support of our coach and club sponsors, whose contributions are vital to everything we do. Our success in the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge will directly benefit our youth players, ensuring they thrive in the year ahead.
This year, we also celebrated our players and volunteers through five awards ceremonies, with BIFC Hull hosting their first independent awards, reflecting their growing and vibrant community.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we reflect on 2024, we want to thank: Our players, whose passion drives us to make a difference. Parents and carers, for your unwavering belief in our mission. Our volunteers, the heartbeat of Barton Inclusive FC, for the vital service you provide to our community.
Our club is more than football, it’s a place where friendships flourish, support is offered, and lives are made happier and healthier.
Here’s to another year of growth, impact, and unforgettable moments. 2025, bring it on!
Best wishes from Sophie, Lynn, JoJo, and Lady Jo.
