Welfare in Action: Lynn’s Visit Highlights the Heart of Wildcats

Welfare in Action: Lynn’s Visit Highlights the Heart of Wildcats
24 April 2025 by bartoninclusive

On Saturday 12th April, our Welfare Officer, Lynn Green, paid a visit to BIFC Wildcats and Teeny Tots, spending the morning watching the players in their sessions, chatting with parents, and experiencing first-hand the community spirit that makes our Saturday morning’s so special.

Lynn’s visit wasn’t just about saying hello — it was a fantastic opportunity to listen, learn, and ensure that both children and parents feel safe, supported, and truly part of the BIFC family. During her time with us, Lynn conducted a short parent survey, with brilliant results:

  • 100% of parents said their daughters feel safe at Wildcats
  • 100% said their daughters enjoy attending
  • Many described the environment as inclusive, welcoming, and confidence-building

Heartwarming comments such as “she’s found her place” and “she’s with her tribe” perfectly captured the essence of what Wildcats aims to be — a fun, friendly and empowering space for girls to grow both on and off the pitch.

Lynn also took the time to listen to feedback, including suggestions for future trips to watch live football (which we’re excited to explore!), and offered reassurance that even non-traditional games are all carefully chosen to support football skill development in a creative way.

Why Welfare Matters

The presence of a visible and approachable Welfare Officer like Lynn is more than a tick-box – it’s a core part of safeguarding, community building, and trust. Lynn’s approachable nature means families know they can speak openly, ask questions, or raise any concerns, knowing they’ll be heard and supported.

At BIFC, we believe that welfare doesn’t start and end with a policy, it lives and breathes in every hello, every check-in, and every conversation. Lynn’s visit is a brilliant reminder of this.

Oh — and she may have left with an Easter egg too (well deserved, we think!).

Thank You, Lynn!

We’re so grateful to Lynn for giving up her time and showing why welfare is at the heart of what we do. We look forward to more visits and more opportunities for our community to connect and thrive together.
