Celebrating Community, Inclusion, and the Power of Sport
Barton Inclusive FC (BIFC) has proudly been named the winner of the Wendy Witter Town Award for Organisations, presented by the Mayor of Barton-upon-Humber, Councillor Neil Jacques, recognising the club’s extraordinary commitment to inclusion and community through football.
The award honours organisations that go above and beyond in their dedication to the people of Barton, and BIFC does exactly that. Powered entirely by a passionate team of volunteers, BIFC creates inclusive football opportunities for everyone, from toddlers as young as two years old to players in their eighties.
Regardless of age, ability, disability, or background, BIFC is giving people the chance to experience the joy, connection, and empowerment that sport can bring.

Club founder and Chair Sophie Bartup expressed gratitude for the award, saying:
“This award belongs to every single player, volunteer, and supporter who makes BIFC what it is. We believe that football is for everyone and thanks to our community, it truly is. We’re so grateful to Barton Town Council for recognising that and standing with us in our mission to create a place where everyone belongs.”

Special thanks were also extended to club treasurer JoJo Lambon, and coach Andrew Dolby, who proudly attended the award ceremony on behalf of the club, representing the spirit, heart, and dedication that drives BIFC forward every day.
This recognition is not just a celebration of achievement, it’s a celebration of possibility. Thanks to Barton Inclusive FC, more people than ever are experiencing sport in a way that is welcoming, joyful, and life-changing.

Together, we are proving that when a town comes together to lift each other up, everyone wins.
